Bouncers

Bouncers (6 weeks to 24 months)

Welcome to Bouncers. This is the room for our littlest learners, our bouncing babies! Children attend Bouncers from as young as 6 weeks to 24 months however our babies let us know when they are ready to move up rooms to Springers and at times our older babies may spend part of their day in the Springers room.

Our baby room is small and cosy, we aim to provide a calm and nurturing environment where your baby feels safe and ready to discover using lots of different sensory experiences including messy play. We have a strong emphasis on early communication and positive attachments through nursery rhymes, picture books and lots of cuddles and 1-1 special interactions. We believe that high quality connections and purposeful moments are essential to developing positive relationships which help your child to settle quickly and be their happy little self. This provides the foundations for lifelong learning see our curriculum here.  We achieve this through having a strong Key Person system and consistent team.

Within the Bouncers room we follow individual children’s routines, our breakfast is ready for 8, lunch is made for 11.30 and tea is prepared for 3.30. Our babies tend to eat together using low chairs, our team follows parent’s wishes to suit their child’s individual needs for weaning. We are able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements please see our menu. (link to menu) Through our healthy eating policy we provide full fat milk and water throughout the day. We require parents to provide formula milk and bottles that can be sterilised at nursery. Parents must also provide nappies and wipes; these can be kept at nursery or brought in daily. Our team follow the lead of our parents to make nursery a home from home, this allows staff to truly know the babies needs and personalities which enables us to follow their individual routines with a particular focus on sleep to maintain high levels of health and well-being. There are lots of places for our babies to sleep and rest wherever they feel the most comfortable. This could be in a cot, on a sleeping bag, on a mat or in the cosy area. Team members sing, cuddle and sooth the babies to sleep depending on their wishes. At nursery we understand the importance of sleep and rest, due to this we will not wake a sleeping baby.

Our babies have the opportunities to explore our garden alone or alongside the older children, we have designated baby areas for our tiny babies and our older babies can choose to mix with older children. This helps with transitions between rooms and develops confidence and relationships.
